Tajikistan

No Open Banking

A landlocked country in Central Asia.

40% of citizens use the internet.

There is no open banking legislative movement: there are several innovative players in the market, but there is no infrastructure and no one to exchange data with. The World Bank provided support for the implementation of remote identification.

The rate of extreme poverty in the country fell from 18 per cent in 2013 to 12 per cent in 2018.

Tajikistan has a two-tiered banking system, with a National Bank conducting central bank functions, and commercial banks. The banking system is relatively undeveloped.
