The small set of islands, with a population of 870 thousand, had an internet penetration of 27% as of 2023, with just over half the population connected with mobile phones.

In 2020, the islands received US $10 million to increase access to financial services for adults, including through investments in payment services.

66% of the population is unbanked as of 2022.
