Niger

No Open Banking

A landlocked West African country which is mostly covered by the Sahara.

Niger’s internet penetration rate stood at 15% by 2022. Mobile connections in Niger were equivalent to 47% of the total population in January 2022.

In 2017, the world bank noted that 85% of the population was without bank accounts.

Niger is served by the Central Bank of West African States (CBWAS), with other nations sharing the West African CFA currency. CBWAS has adopted a regional financial inclusion strategy, yet its measurement is still under discussion.
