Local Communities and Financial Inclusion at the Heart of Ozone API’s ESG Commitment

At Ozone API, we live and breathe our core values: set the standard, achieve together, and do the right thing. These values aren’t just reflected in our workplace culture, they’re also the backbone of why we’ve supported key initiatives in local communities, and aligned and fundraised with like-minded organisations.
Thanks to the dedication and passion of our ESG committee, 2024 was a year filled with impactful initiatives that raised money and supported communities close to our hearts. Here’s a look at some of the highlights:
In partnership with the Seva Sahayog Foundation, Ozone API employees helped underprivileged teenage students in India better understand financial concepts through the “Magical Gullak” initiative. Together, the Ozone API team turned piggy banks into powerful tools for learning, decorating “gullaks” while teaching essential lessons about saving, budgeting, and managing money. Here’s the full story.
The Ozone API team rallied together to raise £1,080 for The Money Charity, funding the publication of The Student Money Manual, a financial guide for students navigating university life. To meet this goal, our team got active, virtually covering 970km, the length of the UK from Land’s End to John O’Groats – three times our initial distance target!
We published a white paper titled “How Open Finance is Revolutionising Financial Management for Young Adults” to highlight how financial technology is transforming the lives of younger generations. This initiative further amplified the mission of The Money Charity.
We proudly sponsored the Under-13s girls’ football team, the Winton Wanderers, in Manchester. Yes, our logo now looks great on their bright orange kits, but more importantly, we’ve helped ensure this thriving yet underfunded team can continue to inspire the next generation of young athletes.
At Open Banking Expo in London this year, we took our commitment to financial education one step further. For every attendee who entered our competition, we donated £1 to The Money Charity. Ozone API donated £250 as part of this campaign – enough to fund an hour of financial education for 20 young people.
At the FTT Fintech Festival, Ozone API sponsored the Comms for Good initiative, aimed at raising awareness about The Homelessness Project. Funds raised were donated to Shelter from the Storm and Street Storage, organisations providing critical resources like shelter and safe storage to those experiencing homelessness.
We hope that by championing initiatives that foster financial education, and supporting these communities, we’ve made a meaningful difference. And as we reflect on the work we’ve done in 2024, we’re excited to continue championing impactful initiatives in 2025.
